|초록||A demand of aggregate has been very highly increasing, resources of natural aggregate are practically exhausted, and environmental protection regulations are strengthened. Therefore, a supply of natural aggregate is decreasing, and crushed stone is indispensable to building and maintenance of social infrastructure. In Korea, nevertheless, maintaining a stable supply against the increasing demand will be become a serious problem. In this study, the blasting test for mining crushed stone was carried out in Bongjae and Namyang quarries. A blasting vibration was measured, the size distribution of crushed rocks by blasting was analyzed with a image processing technique and the slope stability of those quarries was analyzed. The blasting method, which is more advantageous than other methods such as jet burner, slot drill, diamond wire saw and diamond saw in operation efficiency and economics, should be largely applied in stone quarrying. To make the splitting faces smooth and to avoid the overcrush of rock, the blasting pattern should be controlled in accordance with the field conditions. The test of splitting blast method on two faces with the detonating cord was carried out in Donga quarry, and the design of this blasting method was completed for Daeho and Tawang quarries. Water jet has been employed in the extraction of minerals for many years, but the application of low pressure water jet are confined in some fields. With increasing reliability of equipment it is possible to consider the use of high speed water jet for cutting of harder rock. The high speed water jet technology is applied to various engineering fields such as processing stones, quarrying stones, mechanical excavation or drilling for underground constructing, pre-cracking around a deep borehole for hydraulic fracturing. The cutting depth of water jet is influenced by cutting parameters such as driving pressure, nozzle traverse velocity, stand-off distance normalized in nozzle diameter, number of passes of nozzle.
