|초록||This research was initiated for the development of liner material those can be used in land fill sites. The selected coal is Jangseong mine coal for this study. For feasibility study, the small scale of land fill tester was built on the waste water treatment plant of Korea Institute of Geology, Mining & Materials (KIGAM). Measurement items are filtration rate, close time of leachate, temperature, Electric Conductivity (EC), pH, Turbidity, Dissolved Oxygen(DO), Cl, NO₃-N and trace elements content (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Al) of the leachater were carried out to find the filtration capacity of coal. The results showed about 1000hours for close time of leachate, decreasing degree in pH(28.6%), Turbidity (98.5%), and increasing degree in DO (283.8%), Electric Conductivity (511.8%), Cl(62,677%), NO3-N(1,423.5%). Trace elements removal degree of filtered leachate were about 138.5% for Fe, 3,938.5% for Mn, 5,185% for Zn, 400% for Cu, but for Al showed -77.5%.
