A Study on Science gifted Students Identification Acknowledge ratio

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze in Science Gifted Student Identification. It applies to fundamental data of Science Gifted Education accomplishment recognition tile demand. Questionaire investigation and an interview with Scientifically Gifted Student(n=114), Scientifically Gifted Students Parents(n=101), Science Gifted Education Teachers and General Science Teachers (n=85) were executed. The result shows that from the view of student, the dependency on the paper & Pencils test is too high, then students want to introduce experimental ability evaluation for the compensation with it. The teachers point out the inconsistency of the process of president recommendation and personnel limit. They also indicate the necessity of objective and creative Scientifically Gifted Students identification tool. Parents want the earlier Scientifically Gifted Student identification, education, and adequate public information. The process of identification should be considered with justification and characteristics of Scientifically Gifted Student, educational programs. Therefore the succeeding research to solve the problem of identification should be accomplished with this base study.

국문 요약
과학영재 교육에 대한 필요성은 개인적으로나 사회적으로 합의에 이르렀으나 그 시행 방법에 대하여는 많은 이견이 존재하고 있다. 특히 적합한 대상자를 판별하는 일은 교육의 효과를 고려할 때 가장 우선시 되는 문제이다. 본 연구의 목적은 과학 영재교육의 세 가지 주요한 요소인 학생, 학부모, 교사 입장에서의 과학 영재 교육에 대한 인식도와 요구도를 판별과정을 중심으로 비교하여 그 결과를 향후 과학영재교육 수행의 기초 자료로 활용하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 서울시 과학영재 114명, 과학영재를 둔 학부모 101명, 과학영재교육을 담당하는 교사와 일반 과학교사 85명을 대상으로 설문 조사 및 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 그 결과 학생의 입장에서는 지필고사 의존도가 너무 높은 것으로 드러났으며 이의 보완을 위하여 실험 능력 평가등의 다면적 평가 체제의 도입을 원하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 교사들의 입장에서는 학교장 추천 과정의 일관성 없음과 인원 제한등을 문제점으로 지적하였고 창의성 위주의 객관적인 영재 판별 도구의 필요성을 지적하였다. 한편 학부모의 입장에서는 좀 더 이른 시기에서의 영재 판별과 교육 실시 및 적절한 홍보와 소개등을 원하고 있었다. 영재 판별 과정은 영재의 정의 및 영재의 특성, 영재 교육프로그램과의 연결 선상에서 해석되어야 하므로 위의 분석 결과를 토대로 서울시 과학영재원의 영재 판별 문제점을 보완하기 위한 후속 연구가 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다.
